Inverurie, is proudly twinned with Bagnères-de-Bigorre, a picturesque spa town nestled in the French Pyrenees. This official twinning began in 2016, following the signing of a friendship charter that formalised the close relationship between the two communities.
Purpose and Vision
The twinning aims to foster lasting connections and mutual understanding between the people of Inverurie and Bagnères-de-Bigorre. The partnership is built on several key objectives:
Promoting cultural exchange and broadening links between the two towns
Supporting residents, schools, clubs, and businesses in establishing contacts with their counterparts abroad
Developing a shared appreciation of each community’s heritage and traditions
Organising reciprocal visits and activities to deepen friendships and encourage collaboration.
