Inverurie Routes - New River Don Signs
🌿 New River Don Signs Unveiled as Inverurie Routes Launches 🌿
Keep an eye out for the newly installed interpretation signs along the River Don Walk - the first visible step in the new Inverurie Routes project and the debut of the Inverurie Routes logo.
Evolving Inverurie was delighted to secure funding from the Nature Restoration Fund, making it possible to refresh the popular River Don signage. The original signs were beginning to show their age, with some becoming difficult to read, so it was time for an update.
A total of six signs have now been installed - five replacement signs and one brand-new sign at Davidson Fields, which tells the fascinating story of the area's historic bulb fields. 🌷
This project was led by Evolving Inverurie, which identified the need for the improvements, secured the funding and worked closely with Rood Signs to develop the new signage and bring the content to life. A huge thank you to Rood Signs for their expertise in producing and installing the signs.
Each sign features a QR code linking to our website, where visitors can access additional information, photographs and audio content. We'll continue to add new material over time, helping people discover more of Inverurie's history, heritage and wildlife while exploring the town.
The River Don signs mark the launch of Inverurie Routes, a new initiative creating a network of self-guided walking routes that connect people with the stories, landmarks and landscapes that make Inverurie unique.
This project highlights the role that Evolving Inverurie can play in turning ideas into reality - bringing partners together, securing funding and coordinating projects that benefit the wider community.
Next time you're out for a walk along the River Don, stop by one of the new signs, scan the QR code and discover something new about Inverurie.
